Hand Full of Oil

Here at POD we are always balancing the deamnds of producing produccts that actually work with our social responsibilies. Part of that balance has been to considerthe question of Palm Oil. Of Course it is not a simple debate and there is no right or wrong answer.

First of all - why is the ingredient in the product at all? Some beauty products may be loaded i Pal Oil as a cheap filler .... which is certainly not the case with POD!

But mostly Palm Oil is a key alternative to petroleum derived ingredients (which we at POD do NOT use) and which have caused more destruction to the environment and indeed your skin.

More recently the debate has errupted because of the growth in Palm Oil crops for bio-fule alternatives. In some countries that has had an impact on the intrinsic use of land by environment and animals alike.

Importantly therefore you need to know where and how the ingredient was sourced. At POD we take great pains to know the actual source of all our ingredients and the process it followed to cocme to be part of our products.

As far as Palm Oil is concerned it is certainly possible to use it from a 100% sustainable source. In fact in many coutnries the growin, farming and selling of Palm Oil is a traditional way of life. A blanket booycott of all Palm Oil in a sustainable way.

However we know this debate passionately rages on and if you have an opinion or comment to add to the forum - we would love to hear from you here! Innocent
