- Why does it have SPF 15 in it? Does this mean you are protected from the sun for the five days you have the tan? or only for the few hours after you have freshly applied it?
thanks - Hi! SPFs work the same way regardless of the product they are in. Just because you have a fake tan on (with or without an SPF) does not mean you will not tan. We believe being in Australia we should encourage people to apply an SPF whenever possible and as this develops quickly we thought it should have an SPF.

- Can I use this product for both body and face?
- We developed this product for the body but many of our customers use it on their face by mixing it with their moisturizer (about 1/2 and 1/2). Just makes sure it is fully absorbed into the skin and it will be great!

- hi, does PODs products have the 'orange' affect on fair skin as i'm very fair skinned with strawberry blonde hair and previous tanners ive used before all made me orange instead of a nice brown!
- Hi Megan - our product does not got orange. I myself am extremely fair and get a golden bronze colour which is not orangy at all but also not unrealistically boot polish brown. If you want to see the colour you can expect then feel free to look at the video tab on SPF15 Liquid Tan tab. Everyone is different though - so the only way you will know is to try it! Enjoy!

- I am very fair and want to tan gradually. I use a tanning cream formulated for fair to medium skin and it starts off with a very light tan than increases in colour as I apply more tanning cream. Is your tan a full on colour to start with or very gradual........Thx

Pod Liquid Tan is very natural in both its colour result and its formulation.
However it is not agradual product but instead aims to give that perfect, deep natural tan with just one application developing in the first 3-5 hours.

- What kind of sunscreen does the POD Liquid Tan contain? I am allergic to chemical sunscreens like oxybenzone or avobenzone. I get a nasty rash that lasts up to 3 weeks. I can only use minerals like zinc oxide or titanum dioxide.

Ethylhexyl Salicylate
Butyl Methoxydibenxoylmethane
Being Australian we take adequate protection from the sun very serious and a broadspectrum high rated UVA & UVB coverage is not negotiable and from our perspective a beauty essential.
The current international standard is anticipated to be introduced to Australia in January 2011. This is a star based rating system with up to 4 stars. Zinc only give 1 - 2 star coverage which means limited UVA coverage. Our sunscreen gives 3-4 stars which is the highest coverage possible. In selecting the sunscreens we have gone for the safest and most effective ingredients.
If you have not tried these ingredients then most pharmacies have testers (and you could do a quick patch test) on your wrist. - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

- Hi I just bought liquid tan and I wanted to clarify how long it should be kept on for. I am very fair skinned so should I be leaving the tan on for the full 6 hrs to get optimal results?
- Our product is a permenant fake tan so once you have it on it will remain on until you shed your skin which depending on the condition of the skin can be around 5 days. I am very fair and one application gives me the results but if you want to take it deeper you can always add another layer the following day but one applicaiton does most people.

- Absolutely. The basis of fake tanning is that it tans the top layers of your skin so that the tan lasts until you shed your skin! DO not exfoliate in between days as this will speed the removal of dead skin but when you feel it is time to top up then it is highly recommended that you exfoliate to extend the life of your next application....

Thank you! - We have not tested our fake tan for pregnancy so this question is difficult to answer other than to say that many of our customers who are pregnant (including one of our staff members) use it.
Your fake tan should still be fine - but as you may be aware the tanning active is highly sensitive to heat. the way you will know if the product 'has gone off' is if instead of it being a body butter consistency it has a brown (coffee colour) liquid that discharges from it when you open it. If it is still a body butter consistency it is fine. The main enemy of liquid tans is heat over a 12 month period. - Just because a product is natural does not of course mean that you cannot be allergic to it. It is very hard for us to tell if you will be allergic to ours - other than I can tell you that we genuinely have people who can only wear our fake tan. I am personally a highly allergic person and I can wear our fake tan. The only way to know is to do a small patch test - which can be done via tester in any of the pharmacies we are in (testers are no in priceline) or by purchasing our trial kit.

- HI the application on the face does work and the tan does look natural.....see my previous answers for tips....it will look the same as it will ony any other part of your body so do a patch test to make sure you are happy first.

Thanks! - It depends on your own skin as it tans the top layers of the skin. I am very fair and it turns out to be a golden bronze on the first application. It is possible to apply more the followin day if you want it deeper. It gives a full fake tan effect from the first application so it is primarily a fake tan but just happens to be in a body butter.

- Some of our customers use the tan on their face by mixing it with their normal moisturizer - about 1/2 and 1/2. It is a good idea to moisturize your skin the following day after showering. The idea is to keep your skin in good condition to lengthen the life of the tan. when you shed your skin you shed your tan! Thanks for the practical question!

- Hi Gloria - good question - we get asked this a lot. The body butter is easily absorbed into the skin so the skin is not as 'wet' as with other products. When your skin is dry to the touch you should be fine. This should be about 15 minutes to be on the safe side maybe less. Thanks for the question. Enjoy!

Thanks - In my experience the tan does not go patchy but gently fades and I am very fair. Orange is an issue with formulation rather than application and our product will give an even golden tan regardless of where it is applied.
It is always important to be very careful when applying in the folds of skin around knees and elbows so that it is actually applied to all of the skin. Because this is a body butter requiring it has two benefits firstly you have to actually move around and secondly your skin does actually absorb it and get moisturisd.
For best results it is always important to exofliated your skin and deal with any rough bits. We are aware of people who use the Liquid Pedicure on the rough bits as well! - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

- For best results, how long should i wait before showering after application? How long is the SPF active? Does it was away after first shower? Do you recomend using additional sunscreen, as skin does not shed uniformaly? Do you list every single ingredient on the package?
- Firstly we list absolutely every ingredient on our package and this is listed in a nutritional panel style showing the derivative source of the ingredient as well as the INCI (technical or legal) name. Sunscreens should always be applied after showering swimming etc. I would apply it after your shower in the morning and then you are good to go. It is safe to shower after three or so hours by which time the product will have completed its job....

- It say this is broad spectrum SPF15 , does this mean its blocks both UVA & UVB ultraviolet light ?
- It absolutely does mean it blocks UVA and UVB. We take protection from the sun extremely seriously and our sunscreen gives comprehensive coverage from both - including the UVA rays which age the skin the most. Thanks for the question we will make this clearer on the website.

- Hello!
That is not a silly question! A lot of old generation tanners use a synthetic cololur that gives that tie-dyed effect on clothes and sheets! We do not use any synthetic colours in our products. Just ensure that the product is fully applied like you would a body butter and it should be clothing safe. Also make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after application!

I have been using fake tan for about 4 years now and costantly trying new ones but every one i used only lasted at most a week before it started to go scaly and patchy even when i would moisturise, this would cause me to have to exfoliate my whole body and start the fake tanning process again which can be extremely time consuming and just a pain. POD was the first and only fake tan ive ever used that doesn't scale and aslong as long as you re-apply once a week and moisturise in between you POD tan can last for months. Also it smells great and you don't even really need to wash it off because it is a moisturiser and your skin just soaks it up.

I have tried numerous tanners and spent a fortune but they all have the same result. I either steak or geet a skin reaction to them. they also smell horrible. When I put the Pod tan on before bed one night I was amazed when I woke up with a fantastic tan. My skin loved it to. No reactions. No Streaking!! The fragrance is amazing as well. I am an Australian living in Singapore where the average daily temperate is 30 degrees. Therefore most fake tans are hard to apply, as due to the humid climate the body perspires, making most tans not last or dry with streaks. After being a loyal St Tropez user I have now switched to POD, as I love that it is all natural. Also each application seems to take very well, and not be streaky despite how hot it is.
Great product , excellent colour and great to be using something kinder to the skin.

The POD SPF15 Liquid Tan is great! I applied it in the morning, and by the afternoon I was noticeably darker. I also have quite dry skin and tanning can leave my skin even more dehydrated, however the cocoa butter in this product has been great for my skin which now feels soft and moisturised! The only down side to this product is that it is quite thick so if you put too much on you have to work hard to rub it in, and the smell the SPF15 is strong. A great product which I may just go out and purchase more of when I run out!

My upper body is quite tanned so this was the perfect time to get my lily-white legs to match. I loved the smell ... really fresh, not like your average fake tan. Pod was very easy to apply, didn't stain any of my clothes either. Intitially I was a little shocked at how orange my legs were, but once I had a shower, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a lovely golden colour. I only had to apply it twice and it has lasted almost a week. It is a great moisturiser too. An Australian company as well!!!

used this on me and my sister. we both have fair skin and omg it gave us the nicest tan out. better then a sun tan. i could see the results in about 3 hours and it doesn't really have that much of a fake tan smell like other products. I love the color it gives on your skin

POD SPF 15 Liquid Tan has a subtle and pleasant scent. It smells very natural and has none of the unpleasant chemical smells you can get with many tanners. It looks and acts like a moisturiser and it left no greasy residue on my skin. It went on very smoothly and evenly. I didn’t need to use much to get a great result. SPF 15 Liquid Tan had the most natural look I have ever seen in a tanner. I was very impressed with the product and highly recommend it!

I just really wanted to take the time to email you about your products. I purchased ur fake tan and I am absolutely stoked with the results. What a beautiful product. I worked for a number of years for a world wide well known skincare company and swore by their products. I saw the add for your fake tan in the paper and figured I'd give it a go. The colour is beautiful, and the staying power is sensational. U also sent me some samples of some detox products and although Ive only tried the eye detox I'm already sold. I love this product! After years of trying many different fake tans including Ella Bache, Clinique etc., I heard about Pod & decided to give it a go. I've got pretty fair skin & definitely don't like to spend time in the sun risking it but by using Pod, I've got a great golden colour that looks completely natural.
There's no horrible smell like there is with some tanning products. The body butter feels beautiful & creamy when you rub it into your skin, there's no streaking & the best thing is that it lasts for ages. Absolutely fantastic product! (Posted on 15/02/11)

I just wanted to let you know how great your products are. I love them!! Having worked in Pharmacy for 40 years I found Pod one of the most exciting new products to come on the market. Being a cancer survivor as well I needed natural products that were gentle on the skin with no nasties. My favourites are Liquid Detox leaves the skin feeling clean and fresh with no tightness Liquid Tan What can I say ,it is the best artificial tan I have ever used! I would have a natural tan with no streaks. Customers would ask where had I been with that great tan. I told them it came from a tube and they did not believe it. I am new to "fake" tans. I wanted a natural product and have tried few with various results.
I had been looking at Pod for a while and finally took the plunge and purchased it and I have been extremely happy with the results. I have very pale skin and it gives me a great golden colour, not too dark with one application. It also fades nicely no rubbing off with towel drying like I had experienced with other "fake" tans. I would absolutely recommend this product.
The bonus is it is very simple to apply, no worries with even application because it is a body butter.

This year I flatly refused to be the palest girl on the beach however having never used fake tan before I felt the whole process could be a little overwhelming. But when a friend revealed her tan was thanks to POD Liquid Tan, I was impressed. Needless to say I am a POD convert. I have to admit, I've been a St. Tropez devotee for years. But, I recently tried POD Liquid Tan and I've found a new favourite! The product gives a really nice and natural glow. People even tell me I look healthier when I have it on! It's not orange-y like a lot of the other tan products out there. I also love how it glides onto the skin - there's little room for error in application. I'd highly recommend this product if you're thinking about using a self tanner to get ready for summer, or to keep a little glow during the cooler months. (Posted on 6/10/10)

I just wanted to thank you for your brilliant tanner. For pregnant chicks like me going into summer this is really GREAT news because we arent allowed to get chemical spray tans. I dont usually like doing fake tan myself as it always streaks and leaves yellow staining in between by fingers and elbows. But Pod is such a nice thick body butter it was easier to apply than normal streaky lotions so getting perfect coverage was a breeze and lovely smell confirmed it didnt have those disgusting fishy chemicals. But the best thing was the colour!!! No one knew it was fake. I have told all the other women at my preggy classes. Pregnant or not I love my tan!!! Best ever!!!
