Questions on SPF 15 Liquid Light

  • From Jay at 5/01/12 10:17 AM
    • Once i've applied Liquid Light to my face, is it best i wear no make up whilst using the product or is it still ok to do so? If so, do i have to wait a certain amount of time after applying Liquid Light, before i apply my make?
    • Hi Jay! It is absolutely fine to wear makeup whilst using this product! Think of Liquid Light in the same way as a day cream (just with lots of other good actives in it). All you need to do is wait until the product is absorbed into your skin. The time you wait will depend on the type of makeup that you use. Obviously if you are using mineral makeup you will want any product absorbed more than if you are using foundation. Enjoy!

    • Is liquid light good to use as a night cream as well as a day cream, despite the SPF factor?
Also, i bought a trial kit and am now interested in buying some full sized products. How do i redeem the fully refundable amount of the trial kit when i am buying products in store? Thanks!
    • The best time to use this product is the morning because in addition to the actives that lighten pigmentaiton it contains not only an SPF but comprehensive antioxidants to help protect the skin with sun damage contributing to the pigmentation issues. It also contains comprehensive moisturizing capabilities so it will replace your day cream. Irrespective of that there is no problem with using this product of an evening. Some customers use it twice a day to accelerate skin lightening. You will however get excellent results using it once a day.

In terms of your kit you would hyave been emailed a code for redemption approximately 7 days after purchasing your kit (perhaps it got caught in your junk email?). I will email you the code privately after this response. If you dont get it just email hello@podskincare.com and we will refund the amount immediately the order is there.

We are happy you found something you liked in the trial kit! Enjoy!

    • Hi, I have a few freckles on my nose and cheeks will liquid light lighten these? Will it lighten the rest of my face or only the darker areas?
      Thanks.
    • The ingredients in liquid light target hyperpigmentation. It will lighten the hyperpigmentation but should not significantly lighten the other areas of your face. Our product is not aimed at skin lightening but sun damage.

  • From Diane at 7/02/11 12:50 PM
    • Do you have a body product ? I have freckly arms which I hate and want to use the product on them (my face doesn't really have any freckles - just my arms) but due to the small size of the product don't think it would last very long if applied to larger areas.

Also with the loyalty program is there a minimum time before you cancel?

And finally (sorry for so many questions at once!) once you have achieved the desired result do you need to continue use of the product to maintain this, or just avoid sun etc
    • Hi Diane
      Thanks for your questions...
We usually like to stick very closely to the proven science on actives so that people definitely get results. Unfortuantely in the case of the actives in Liquid Light all the clinical data was on the face so we only made a face product. I have been in touch with one of our scientists on your behalf and he said that body pigmentation can be different so I am not sure I can confidnetly say you would definitely get the same results on your body.
If you do end up trying the Liquid Light and getting good results on the body please, please let us know!

Our loyalty program has no minimum time before you cancel - you are free to cancel whenever you want. So if you are thinking of ordering anything its definitely worth doing it through the program - you get 20% off and quite a few extra little bonuses along the way too!

Liquid Light is a fantastic all round skincare product with anti-agers and a protective and preventative anti-oxidant action as well as a uva and uvb SPF 15 sun screen so it will always be great on your skin. However the actives for pigmentation only work on pigmentation and once you have achieved your goal you wouldn't really need to keep using the treatment. Your best defence to keep pigmentation from reappearing would be to keep your skin covered and out of the sun ... or make sure whatever skin treatments you are using have an SPF 15 or above in them.

I hope that helps a little - if you need anymore info please do not hesitate to ask :)

    • Hey, just wanted to find out how long does it take for you to be able to notice a great difference in uneven skin tone and lightening of freckles?
    • The clinical trials showed a significant reduction within 3 weeks. Annecdotally you should be seeing differences before this......Cheers!

    • HI there,

I have been told this ingredient will not be effective unless there is at least 2-4% melanostatine-5 present. Can you confirm if there is at least this amount in your formula?

      thanks
    • Hi Sarah thanks for coming back and asking for what you need to know. I can absolutely confirm that the ingredient is present in the formulation in that range. We absolutely do not 'short-change' our formulations and always ensure that they are in the optimum amount. Hope that helps.....

    • Hi does this product work on hyper pigmentation left over from acne/ pimples, or is it only for freckles/sun spots? Also do you have more information on the trial, results, people, or was it only in vitro? I remember reading in the newspaper ad something about 2weeks, but there's no mention of the trial/results on the website? Thank you
    • Hi Jamie - The test were not for acne and pimple related skin damage. The test were both in a lab and on humans and that sample included both sun related damage and asian skin tones. I hope this helps and we will summarize and include the test results themselves on the product information page for all to see. Hope this helps.

    • Hi there, I just wanted to find out if your Liquid Light contains nanoparticles in the SPF element of the cream?
      Thanks
    • Hello!

That is not a silly question at all! We do not use nano-particle based ingredients at all let alone in our sunscreens. There is a well marketed nano-particle sunscreen ingredient which is a nano-partical based ingredient which we specifically excluded from use.

We have made a personal decision to not use nano-particles which have concerns due to their penetration of the skin. Instead we are focused on ingredients which replicate or mimic the skin's barrier to it does not have to be penetrated. This is part of our philosophy and a specific part of our development brief on all our products.

It is a personal decision. But this is our clearly stated position.

      Enjoy!

    • I see that liquid light has vit. A in it.I have read that there is concern with having this vitamin in a sunscreen as it can make the skin more susceptible to skin cancer.?
    • Hi Malcom -

Vitamin A is included in Liquid Light because of its skin lightening effects. Liquid light is first and formost a skin lightener. In terms of Vitamin A and sunscreens I assume you are referring to the EWG's claims which have been widely discredited by the FDA whose views the EWG is purporting to represent.

Our interpretation is that the EWG is using this to generating publicity for their sunscreen ratings. You may be aware that there is currently extensive debate around the introduction of European sunscreen standards in Australia which would require ratings to include an indication of both UVA and UVB coverage. At the moment the SPF rating system does not provide this information.

We fully support this move given the importance of a broadspectrum UVA and UVB coverage and allowing the consumer full disclosure. By the way our products are extensively tested by an independent lab on human beings as providing comprehensive coverage.

      Thanks for your question!

    • Hi, is this product safe to use whilst pregnant?

      thanks
    • Hi Sarah this product has not been tested for pregnancy so I could not say it is safe or not. Our labels are very comprehensive and easy to read so perhaps this is something you could discuss with your doctor.

    • HI,

can you please tell me what % of melanostatine-5 is present in this formula?

      many thanks
    • Hi Sarah thanks for your question. We do not disclose our formulations as they are proprietary. We use an effective level of the peptide Melanostatin-5 and this is used in combination with Tyrostat-11 (Common Dock) and Vitamin C to get the results. If I have misunderstood your question please ask again.

    • Can I use other sunscreen products with the liquid light, without affecting the product effectiveness? I spend a lot of time outdoors and would like to use a sunscreen with a higher SPF.
    • Yes you can use a sunscreen with Liquid Light but as you may know an SPF15 will give you a comprehensive (A&B) coverage with the difference being the time that the coverage is active.

    • Is the product non-comedogenic - doesnt clog pores?
    • We have not done comodengenic testing but we are very aware of comogenic issues and take this into account in our formulation. Anecdotally our customer tell us that they have exception results with the Liquid Detox in particular and that our treatments do not cause them to breakout. Everyone's skin is different however and that is why we have the trial kit to make it easy to try our products without a big investment so you will have peace of mind before purchasing the products. I hope this helps.

Feels lovely and works quickly Review by Rosemary All my reviews  (1)
I purchased this and Liquid Detox, and have been using both for a couple of weeks. My skin looks clearer and some horrid age spots are fading. This is one of the few products that really work in a short time. I find others require months to show any results and I am impatient. I do wish it didn't have sunscreen though because I find it better on my oily skin as a night cream. I also would note that although the bottle is quite small you can dispense a tiny amount which is all I find is needed. (Posted on 7/07/11)

Loving Liquid Light Review by Michelle
I love all of your products but I am especially loving the new product - Liquid Light. I have slightly freckled skin and a pale complexion and this has improved the appearance of my freckles (they are much lighter) and my skin is glowing from the illuminating effects of the product. Another bonus is that it smells wonderful - thanks again POD for another great product - natural is always best.

It Has Made A HUGE Difference Review by Ambz
Thought I would give an update for anyone that might be looking for threads and reviews on this product.

I ended up buying the Pod Puraceuticals Liquid Light. I Have been using it for 2 weeks and it has made a HUGE difference.

Firstly how it feels - It is a medium density lotion but feels kind of thick when I put it on. However good thing is a little bit goes a long way so it should last a fair while (thankfully cos it isn't cheap).

Now to the results - It has brigtened my skin, old blemish marks have almost faded completely with no new blemishes appearing...phew! Freckles are starting to fade. Overall my skin tone is much more even.

What I didn't like - The only thing I really don't like is that it makes my skin a bit greasy, I think due to the SPF sunscreen factor, so I only wear it at night, which is kind of annoying because of the SPF I'd rather be wearing it during the day. But think it's fantastic that I havent broken out (it doesn't take much for me to break out and I'm often battling with my skin to find products that won't make it freak out) and that my skin is actually healing...whoo!! So I really want to try their other products.

I'll definately use it all up and may repurchase and use once or twice a week for maintenance.

Liquid Light Product Amazing! Review by Susan
I would like to express my amazement and gratitude to POD for developing a natural product that Finally works.

For many years now I have had Hypopigmentation and have spent thousands of dollars on products and procedures that have promised to improve it. A few products have helped marginally, however, I would like to share my excitement about your "liquid light".

After two weeks of using this product I am delighted to say I notice a significant improvement and my skin is soaking it up like a sponge. (Almost like it has been waiting for this for many years). Every day now I see an improvement. It is a mixture of disbelief and excitement as it starts to fade and reveal a more youthful look for this face of mine. (53 years old).

Thank you, thank you ... thank you. (Posted on 20/01/11)
